If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lexington. On Friday they take on Wellington-Napoleon at 7:00 PM. Both teams are strolling into their matchup after big wins in their previous games.
Lexington was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They made easy work of Trenton last week and carried off a 44-21 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lexington had established a 36-14 advantage.
Meanwhile, Wellington-Napoleon simply couldn't be stopped, as they easily beat Lone Jack/Kingsville 50-6.
Their wins bumped Wellington-Napoleon to 1-1 and Lexington to 2-0. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up they can run the score.
