Basketball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Comes Up Short

Coram Deo Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions and fell 82-48. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Coram Deo Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 97-56 back in January.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Manack, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Manack has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Langat, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points.

Mason Barnett was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 18 en route to 30 points for Grapevine Faith Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennen Byrd, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Coram Deo Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-6.

Coram Deo Academy has already played their next game, an 83-45 defeat against Grace Prep on the 28th. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-43 victory against Southwest Christian School on the 28th.
