After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Ladarrious Wimberly to
Ronald Wilbert in the first quarter, the Panthers led 16-0 at the half.
Maplewood saw its 16-point halftime lead fall to 10 entering the fourth.
The Firebirds'
Omari Moore played well. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown.
Wimberly played well for MHS in the victory. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Coming into the game the Panthers had allowed 22.5 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding Pearl-Cohn well below its season average of 20.5 points scored per game.
MHS got revenge for last year's 28-21 loss to PC with the victory.
With the win the Panthers extended their winning streak to three games.
Maplewood (5-2) goes up against Christ Presbyterian Academy in a AA District 10 game matchup next week, while Pearl-Cohn (2-5) locks horns with Whites Creek also in a AA District 10 game.
