The Ohatchee Indians suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 69-21 loss at the hands of Oxford. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ohatchee has scored all season.
Oxford found their leader in underclassman Ava Thomas, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Xaionna Whitfield was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Ohatchee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Oxford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.
Ohatchee will look to defend their home court on Monday against Wellborn at 5:30 p.m. Oxford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jacksonville at 3:00 p.m. on January 18th. Jacksonville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
