Caylee Goff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Allmon, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was April Morales, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Crescent City's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.
Crescent City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Peniel Baptist Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Crescent City, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Peniel Baptist Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Raiders will need to find a way to close that gap.
