Coal City extended the longest winning streak in Interstate Eight - Large this week by beating Peotone, 27-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Coalers.
Plano led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Plano.
Danny Beresky was the best wideout in the league this week as the Blue Devils lost to Coal City. Beresky racked up one reception for 30 yards. Trevor Ziebert helped Peotone's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.
Jake Rapson was the most productive running back in Interstate Eight - Large this week. He ran for 96 yards on 24 carries as Peotone fell to Lenny Onsen's team. Teammate Beresky added to the ground attack by rushing for 69 yards.
Herscher's Dalton Sproul and Kyle Burton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sproul has thrown for 1084 yards this season, while Burton, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 41 catches for 654 yards. Kevin Greene's team's Beresky leads the league in rushing yards with 959.
