The Commerce Tigers came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Edgewood with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. For Commerce, this counts as revenge for the 54-25 defeat Edgewood walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kassidy Paul, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Blair McPherson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Commerce's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Edgewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.
Coincidentally, Commerce and Edgewood will both be playing Prairiland the next time they take the court. Commerce will head out to face Prairiland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Edgewood will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st.
