Kossuth has gone 7-1 against Mantachie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Aggies will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kossuth has three straight wins, Mantachie has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Kossuth is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Amory with a sharp 17-1 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Baylor Kelly tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evan Killough and Kipptyn Briggs did most of the damage at the plate: Killough went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles, while Briggs went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Briggs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Wilbanks, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Kossuth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mantachie came up short against Mooreville on Saturday and fell 14-9.
Mason Jenkins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Kossuth's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Mantachie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Mantachie's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kossuth has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. It's a different story for Mantachie, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Kossuth's hitters?
Kossuth got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2024 against Mantachie by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Aggies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
