The Greeley West Spartans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Windsor, falling 102-43. Greeley West has not had much luck with Windsor recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Greeley West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dominic Florez, who scored eight points. River Ortiz was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Windsor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Backhaus, who scored 24 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Backhaus has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Reed, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Greeley West's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Windsor, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Greeley Central the next time they take the court. Windsor will head out to face Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Greeley West will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
