The Bay Tornadoes took care of business in their home opener on Monday (barely). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Marianna 43-40. For Bay, this counts as revenge for the 42-31 defeat Marianna walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Leading Bay to victory were Taylor Carlson and Shania Heard. Carlson scored 12 points, while Heard dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Bay's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Marianna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bay will take on Holmes County at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marianna will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Malone at 5:15 p.m. on November 30th.
