The Westside Rams had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They strolled past Greenwood with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 22% better than the opposition, as Westside's was.
Kiarra Gregory went supernova for Westside, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Gregory continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Clinkscales, who scored nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Greenwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danielle Oliver, who scored 14 points along with seven steals, and Ty Johnson who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Oliver has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played.
Westside pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Greenwood, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2.
Westside will take on the Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Easley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Eagles are ranked 16th).
