It was a good run, but Hancock unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 9-3 to the George County Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since February 22nd.

Teegan DeWitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hancock saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenleigh McIver, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for George County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-1.

While Hancock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
