This season hasn't been kind to the Fort Davis Indians, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They took a hard 62-43 fall against Dell City on Friday. Fort Davis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dell City apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Reyes Espinoza was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five assists and three steals for Dell City. The contest was Espinoza's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Estrada, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Fort Davis' loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Dell City, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Davis will be home for the holidays to greet Balmorhea at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dell City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Van Horn at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
