AAAAAA Region 3 recap September 17, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Kinan Humphrey and Bingo Morton connected against Wheeler. The connection was good for 62 yards, the longest such play in AAAAAA Region 3 this season.
Westlake moved up to 101 from 154 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions were able to make move up by besting Banneker 26-6.
Humphrey and Keion Davis gave Hughes a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Humphrey threw for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Davis ran for 229 yards. Teammate Emile Sexton added to the ground attack by rushing for 25 yards.

Justin Bridges was the best wideout in the league this week as Douglas County fell to Chattahoochee. Bridges racked up 5 receptions for 80 yards. D'Ondre Glenn helped Douglas County's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 53 yards.
Davis was the most successful running back in AAAAAA Region 3 this week.
Davis was a force in the backfield as Hughes beat the Wildcats.
Jared Askew was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers lost to the Cougars. He completed 14 passes for 165 yards and also ran for 73 yards.
Humphrey put up the best numbers through the air as Willie Cannon's team bested Wheeler. Humphrey's favorite target this week was Morton, who caught 6 passes for 78 yards.
He went 11-16 with 1 interceptions.
Douglas County's Askew and Bridges have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Askew has thrown for 466 yards this season, while Bridges has 14 catches for 259 yards. The Panthers' Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 573.
Newnan took down Troup County 45-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
