The Cadott Hornets suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against McDonell Central, falling 73-31. While losing is never fun, Cadott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while McDonell Central is ranked 14th).
Despite the defeat, Cadott saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Nerdrum scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cadott's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for McDonell Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.
Cadott will head out on the road to take on Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDonell Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Columbus Catholic at 7:15 p.m. Columbus Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
