The Robinson Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Springfield. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Robinson of the 57-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Robinson saw an underclassman step up: Braxton Sebastian scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Schuck, who scored six points.
Robinson's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for West Springfield, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.
Robinson will head out on the road to square off against West Potomac at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Potomac knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Robinson likes a good challenge. As for West Springfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Lake Braddock is ranked 287th, while West Springfield is ranked 267th).
