The Meridian Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sterling by a score of 47-35. The win was just what Meridian needed coming off of a 62-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Sterling saw an underclassman step up: Brody Horstman scored 20 points. Horstman also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Wambold, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The victory got Meridian back to even at 2-2. As for Sterling, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will face off against Superior on Friday. Superior comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sterling, they will head out on the road to face off against East Butler on Saturday.
