The South Ridge Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Cook County Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (South Ridge is ranked 395th, while Cook County is ranked 414th).
South Ridge suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Chisholm, falling 86-47. South Ridge has not had much luck with Chisholm recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Cook County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 61-49 to McGregor.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Denali Blackwell, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Rohan Rude, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
South Ridge bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Cook County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
South Ridge won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, slipping by Cook County 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
