This season hasn't been kind to The Siloam Springs Panthers, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 50-13 loss at the hands of Van Buren. Siloam Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Buren to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trenton Cooley, who picked up 237 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Perkins, who threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.2% of his passes.
Siloam Springs' loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Greenwood and 12-1 Pulaski Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.8% over those games). As for Van Buren, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Siloam Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Van Buren will head out on the road to face off against West Memphis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (West Memphis is ranked 22nd, while Van Buren is ranked 40th).
