Cortez was beaten by Bourgade Catholic 65-27 on Wednesday. Cortez has not had much luck with Bourgade Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bourgade Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Juliet Botiller out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Botiller has scored at least 25% of Bourgade Catholic's points. Vanessa Arismendez was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Cortez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bourgade Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 1-5.
Cortez will be home for the holidays to greet Eastmark at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bourgade Catholic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
