The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past McMullen County with a 45-39 victory. For Skidmore-Tynan, this counts as revenge for the 43-30 defeat McMullen County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Alexander Gonzalez, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Martinez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Skidmore-Tynan's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.33 points across that stretch. As for McMullen County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Skidmore-Tynan is on the road again on Friday and play against Jourdanton at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Jourdanton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 865th, while Skidmore-Tynan is ranked 342nd). As for McMullen County, they will stay at home for another game and welcome George West at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
