Newcomb put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-6 victory over Zuni on the road. With Newcomb ahead 24-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Dion Lee, who rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Landon Noble and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Newcomb's win.
Navajo Prep fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 32-20 win over Tohatchi on Friday.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Newcomb against Navajo Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-12 victory. Will Newcomb repeat their success, or does Navajo Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
