Algona was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Hampton-Dumont/Cal on Friday as they made off with a 35-7 win. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Algona are ranked far ahead of Hampton-Dumont/Cal in the MaxPreps state rankings. The game brought Algona to 1-0 and dropped Hampton-Dumont/Cal to a mirror-image 0-1.
Next week, Algona take on Emmetsburg at 7:00 PM. As for Hampton-Dumont/Cal, they will face off against South Hardin.
