The Seneca Bobcats will head out to square off against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seneca is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Seneca will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Union City, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Bears on Tuesday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Sophia Primavere made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haylee Farrell, who fired off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Matson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
Seneca kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mercyhurst Prep lost 9-3 to Mercer on Wednesday. The contest marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Mercyhurst Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Beebe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Allison Kosinski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Seneca's record is now 11-3. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seneca hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Mercyhurst Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
