The Westville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Watseka, falling 59-18. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westville in their matchups with Watseka: they've now lost four in a row.
Westville's loss came despite strong showings from Madison Duke and Aubrie Jenkins. Duke scored four points, while Jenkins scored five points.
Westville's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.6 points per game. As for Watseka, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.
Westville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Oakwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Oakwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. Watseka won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Armstrong at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Armstrong will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 616th, while Watseka is ranked 154th).
