Basketball Recap: Max Mowrey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Escondido Charter over Adelanto

Escondido Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Adelanto Saints didn't end well, with the Escondido Charter Tigers falling 56-40. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 741st, while the Saints are ranked 269th).

Escondido Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Mowrey, who went 8 of 15 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. Mowrey has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Scates, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Escondido Charter's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9. As for Adelanto, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Escondido Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-43 loss against Bishop's on the 4th. As for Adelanto, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-40 defeat against North on the 3rd.
