Basketball Recap: South Callaway Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

South Callaway entered their tilt with New Bloomfield on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 66-60 W against the New Bloomfield Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 57-36 win back in January.

New Bloomfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Fuhriman, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 19 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Fuhriman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Alex Massman was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

South Callaway pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for New Bloomfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Looking ahead, South Callaway will venture away from home to take on Belle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in South Callaway's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. New Bloomfield has already played their next contest (against Southern Boone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
