The Brandon Academy Scorpions will face off against the Cambridge Christian Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Brandon Academy will head into Tuesday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 37-point drubbing they dealt Bayshore Christian on Tuesday. Brandon Academy blew past Bayshore Christian, posting a 65-28 victory. The Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Brandon Academy can attribute much of their success to Aaron Miller-Holmes, who went 12 for 16 en route to 26 points, and Rashad Carriera, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Miller-Holmes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Davian Colon was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.
Brandon Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Cambridge Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They took down the Panthers 67-52. 67 seems to be a good number for the Lancers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Cambridge Christian's win came from a few key players Brandon Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zay Burton, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Ian Jansen, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Brandon Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Cambridge Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Brandon Academy has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 45.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Cambridge Christian struggles in that department as they've made 71.3% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Brandon Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cambridge Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brandon Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
