Riverside had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it five. They fell 10-7 to the Parker Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-9 back in March.

Kenton Scott put in work no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Scott was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Rylan Covington made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Theodore Whittle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Parker, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-11 record. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Like Riverside, Parker also got a great game from a two-way player: D Lovelace. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Lovelace has become a key player for Parker: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-10 otherwise. Lovelace was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, J Sands was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Parker's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was A Pire, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, Riverside will take on Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.39 runs per game on average), something the Generals will no doubt try to take advantage of. Parker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
