Even though the Jefferson Blue Jays have not done well against the St. Vincent Indians recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jefferson snuck past St. Vincent with a 56-52 victory. That's two games straight that Jefferson has won by exactly four points.
Jefferson was led to victory by Peyton Guffey and Grace Neels. Guffey scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Neels scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Another player making a difference was Halayna Loyd, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Jefferson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for St. Vincent, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Vincent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perryville at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Perryville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
