Two dominant guards in Tristen Hebblethwaite and Brady Ahlemeyer are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Paxton Tigers will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Cambridge Trojans at 5:45 p.m. Paxton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.

Cambridge will be up against a hot Paxton squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-41 W against Maywood/Hayes Center. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Paxton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddex McConnell out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Tyler Markussen was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Paxton was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 29-29 at halftime, Cambridge was not quite Maywood/Hayes Center's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 14-10 in the first quarter.

Cambridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Paxton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Paxton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cambridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win.
