Softball Recap: Harvard's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Harvard had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 14-11 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Richmond-Burton Rockets get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Rockets back in April, they had to take a 9-2 loss.

As for Richmond-Burton, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-9-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Richmond-Burton's part, Hailey Holtz spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 19 Ks. Holtz has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Harvard will venture away from home to challenge Alden-Hebron at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets are facing the Green Giants at the right time seeing as the Green Giants are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Richmond-Burton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
