Basketball Recap: LKY Piles Up the Points Against Fairdale

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely LKY's strategy against Fairdale on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the LKY Saints blew the Fairdale Bulldogs out of the water with a 72-30 final score. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Hannah Simmon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 14 for 26 en route to 35 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Savannah McCartney, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 16 points and seven boards.

LKY was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

LKY's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Fairdale, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LKY will square off against Jeffersontown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairdale, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
