Basketball Recap: Altamonte Christian Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

It's playoff time, and Altamonte Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the International Community Comets by a score of 73-64 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Ryan Almeda continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 16 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high. Josiah Glaude was another key player, scoring 12 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Altamonte Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Paxton Boaz and Slade Woodruff certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Boaz went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with seven assists and six boards, while Woodruff went 6 for 9 en route to 20 points. The game was Boaz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Grover, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Altamonte Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for International Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Altamonte Christian and Legacy Charter will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Legacy Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Altamonte Christian surely won't give up without a fight. International Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
