The Axtell Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Dawson Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Axtell will be strutting in after a victory while Dawson will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Axtell earned a 28-21 win over Bremond. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Axtell.
Axtell found their leader in underclassman Levi Leathers, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Dawson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 49-45 to Bremond.
Axtell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Dawson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.
Axtell came up short against Dawson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-43. Can Axtell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
