Softball Game Preview: Woodinville Falcons vs. Mount Si Wildcats

The Woodinville Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Mount Si Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Si took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodinville, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, everything went Woodinville's way against Bellevue as Woodinville made off with a 21-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Woodinville got a great performance from Hayden Kneeland as she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Woodinville let Jane Ford and Kaylyn Ring run wild. Ford scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Ring got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Ford a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Ford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Woodinville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue only posted an OBP of .062.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mount Si took on North Creek on Wednesday. Mount Si took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Creek. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Anna Braukus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Georgia Dennis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Woodinville's record now sits at 2-0. As for Mount Si, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Woodinville couldn't quite get it done against Mount Si in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can Woodinville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
