The East Carter Raiders will take on the Eminence Warriors in a holiday battle at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, East Carter earned a 48-38 victory over Greenup County. Given East Carter's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Greenup County is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Carter can attribute much of their success to Abby Boggs, who scored 11 points, and Kinsley Rutledge, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Adams, who scored seven points.
Eminence can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Model as Eminence made off with a 48-28 victory. The win was just what Eminence needed coming off of a 50-26 defeat in their prior match.
East Carter pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Eminence, their victory ended a 18-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
