Two dominant guards in Tralyn Phillips and Jaleila Littlejohn are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Forestview Jaguars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the North Gaston Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Forestview and five for the Wildcats.
Last Tuesday, Forestview suffered a rough 68-46 loss at the hands of the Red Raiders. Forestview has not had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, North Gaston took a serious blow against the Storm on Tuesday, falling 77-41. North Gaston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.
Forestview's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for North Gaston, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
Everything came up roses for Forestview against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 67-39 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was North Gaston's Whitney Brown, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Forestview still be able to contain Brown? There's only one way to find out.
