Brillion is 2-8 against Chilton since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lions will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Brillion is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Brillion barely beat Bonduel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Bears on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kelvin Gilbertson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Mathes, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Chase Braun was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Chilton's offense. They fell just short of Brillion by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.
Nathan Mueller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
Brillion's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Chilton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.
Chilton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brillion has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Chilton, though, as they've only averaged .330. Will they be able to contain Brillion's hitters?
