The Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-37 loss at the hands of Bishop Machebeuf. While losing is never fun, Dayspring Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Bishop Machebeuf is ranked 50th).
When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Quinn Boyd. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Coleman, who scored 11 points.
Dayspring Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayspring Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against SkyView Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. SkyView Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Dayspring Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they will head out on the road to take on Heritage Christian at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
