The Scotus Shamrocks were the 33-20 winner over the Norfolk Catholic Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Scotus took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Monday.
Norfolk Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Yosten, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacey Wolf, who scored 11 points.
Scotus' defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Norfolk Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotus will face off against the Vikings on Tuesday. Lakeview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 38th). As for Norfolk Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wayne has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while the Knights will arrive with three straight wins.
