Tommy Acosta Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Capistrano Valley got the W thanks in part to Tommy Acosta playing the best football he has all season. Acosta rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. On Thursday, Tustin got the W thanks in part to Eimesse Essis playing the best football he has all season. Essis rushed for 293 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 182 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Tustin's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Essis and Tustin will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Western at 7:00 p.m.

Xzavior Guess Goes Supernova in El Modena Defeat
El Modena was sadly handed a loss on Thursday, but Xzavior Guess did his best to prevent it. Nobody could stop Guess as he rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 61 yards.
The defeat snapped El Modena's winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-1 record. Guess will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Capistrano Valley on Friday.

Tristan Zale's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trabuco Hills over Capistrano Valley
While Tristan Zale delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Trabuco Hills. Zale turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 351 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Zale and Trabuco Hills have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Cypress at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will pit Zale up against the Centurions' star QB Xavier Guerrero. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.
