The Whiting Oilers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-31 loss at the hands of Hammond Bishop Noll. While losing is never fun, Whiting can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Hammond Bishop Noll is ranked 71st).
Nick Davenport and Yovanni Garro certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Davenport scored nine points along with ten rebounds, while Garro scored 12 points.
Whiting's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Whiting will head out on the road to take on Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wheeler has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Hammond Bishop Noll, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hammond Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Hammond Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten two weeks ago.
