The Holly Hill Academy Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Cross Schools Stingrays at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Holly Hill Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Holly Hill Academy took a serious blow against Dorchester Academy, falling 50-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holly Hill Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact Cross Schools proved on Tuesday. They strolled past Patrick Henry Academy with points to spare, taking the game 51-34.
Cross Schools found their leader in underclassman Ryan Mayers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mayers pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sydney Hollings, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Holly Hill Academy bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cross Schools, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
