The Kentridge Chargers lost against the Tahoma Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Kentridge fell 47-40 to Tahoma. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kentridge in their matchups with Tahoma: they've now lost four in a row.
Kentridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Esperanza, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Jayla Keowla was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Tahoma found their leader in underclassman Adalynn Busch, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Harrison, who scored five points.
Kentridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Tahoma, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Kentridge will be playing at home against Mt. Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Rainier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Kentridge is ranked 86th). Tahoma's road trip will continue as they head out to face Liberty at 8:30 p.m. on January 15th.
