The East Ridge Knights will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Ridge Community Bolts at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Thursday, East Ridge ended up a good deal behind South Lake and lost 49-33.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Amber Sommer, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Neishaliz De Jesus, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Ridge Community's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Fort Meade 46-41. Ridge Community has struggled against Fort Meade recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Ridge Community saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. A. Benoit, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was T. Bodison, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
East Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Ridge Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
East Ridge beat Ridge Community 47-35 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will East Ridge repeat their success, or does Ridge Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
