Even though the Carl Junction Bulldogs have not done well against the Neosho Wildcats recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Carl Junction blew past Neosho 58-37. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Carl Junction did.
Carl Junction was led to victory by Brody Pant and Deacon Endicott. Pant scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Endicott dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Pant's third in a row with at least ten points. Wyatt McAfee was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Neosho lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyrone Harris, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Simpson, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
The win got Carl Junction back to even at 6-6. As for Neosho, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Carl Junction will be playing at home against St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neosho and Willard will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Willard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Neosho in Missouri (Willard is ranked 58th, while Neosho is ranked 380th).
