Calvary Christian put the hurt on Colonial Christian with a sharp 65-43 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Calvary Christian has posted since November 10, 2023.
Leading Calvary Christian to victory were Josiah Obando and Braeden Pero. Obando dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Pero scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Pero has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Coy, who scored five points.
Colonial Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Clayton Gannon, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gannon has scored all season. Gabe Taylor was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Colonial Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 9-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game.
