The Durfee Hilltoppers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 27-9 bruising from Brockton. Durfee lost against Brockton in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 48-0 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brockton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Turco, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Jarred Mighty made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Durfee's loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Dartmouth and 7-1 Fairhaven (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.4% over those games). As for Brockton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Durfee will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brookline at 7:00 p.m. As for Brockton, they will head out on the road to face off against Braintree at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
