Burbank has gone 9-1 against Lanier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will take on the Voks at 7:00 p.m. Burbank is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Burbank is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Seguin just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 10-2 to the Matadors. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this game were averaging 3.4 runs allowed.
Giselle Garcia made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aumni Mayorga, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Lanier waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Golden Bears 9-7.
Jesal Reyes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 5.1 innings pitched. Reyes was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025.
Reyes wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Serenity Vega, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Vega's first of the season.
Lanier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Burbank's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 15-5. As for Lanier, their record is now 6-10.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Burbank has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .602. However, it's not like Lanier struggles in that department as they've averaged .506. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Burbank got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Lanier by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Voks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
